We have reviewed your draft of the Central Intelligence
Agency (CIA) section of the Senate Select Committee on
Intelligence report entitled "The United States Government and
Recent Political Violence in El Salvador" and have the
following comments.
We would also call your.attention to page I.H,-2 where the
word "properly" on the second line of the first full paragraph
should actually be "improperly."
We would also note that the SSCI's concern "that the
Intelligence Community... produce a definitive all-source
finished intelligence product" (II,A-5) on death squads has

"El Salvador: Controlling Right Wing Terrorism." In addition,
the right's propensity for violence is being addressed as part
of a current Special National Intelligence Estimate entitled
"El Salvador: The Outlook for the Duarte Government."
