Most of the meeting was devoted to a briefing on the situation in with particular emphasis on the tremendous effort there which is growing. b. During 1966 the DDS components have made a good showing in receiving honors and awards. c. Some discussion about the Agency's 19th anniversary ceremonies Vice President Humphrey is scheduled to attend. 25X1A d. will remain in- PCS as Chief of Support. 25X1A e. Mr. Bannerman has jury duty 22 August - 22 September. Although he is uncertain just which days he will be in, he plans to discuss the executive inventory with office heads. f. A conference room is being established in the Magazine Building which is particularly suitable for briefing uncleared outside visitors.. It will seat 130 - 140 people. 2. DDP Staff Meeting -- 17 August 1966 a. The new appointments and extensions of tours: 25X1A b. Ops Services.to coordinate proposed transfers of personnel between DDP and other directorates. c. Mr. Kirkpatrick's interview on TV was considered good publicity for the Agency. d. ADDP solicited ideas' for use in a proposed unclassified documentary to be filmed about the Agency. e. The SBD training program for CS personnel scheduled for tours in areas where there are Soviets is not working very well. Chief/NE complained about steadily increasing lists of things outgoing officers, especially COSs, are being requested to do, such as the the NIS, and the SBD Briefings, -- the complaint being that divisions are left with insufficient personnel to carry on their regular duties.. ADDP saw no immediate solution to this problem. f. General Counsel is actively working on ways to force Agency employees to honor the security agreement which they all have signed. g. Visits of COSs and people of similar rank to the White House to brief Mr. Rostow should be coordinated with h. Standards for admission to the Midcareer Course were discussed in response to a TSD request that persons of higher rank be accepted. No conclusion was reached. 25X1 A.. 3. At a meeting a 18 _ 19 August, general agreement was reached to-establish a three-cycle training program a and 25X1A to submit a proposal recommending a four-week OFC.
