1. It is requested that Vie be authorized 4450.00 from.
unvouchered funds. to pay tuition for a course of training in
use of the Polygraph.
2. This course which is taken under the auspices of the
Chicago Police Department, Chicago, Illinois, requires six
weeks of study and training. entered on this
course of study 18 April 1949 anc _e course will be completed
28 May 1949- will be charged with the responsibility
of maintaining uiin errupted operation of the Polygraph.
3. This request is made in connection with the project
outlined in your memorandum to all Assistant Directors, dated
23 August 1948, subject: "Study Project on Technical Investiga-
tive Methods in Time of Emergency."
