1. In accordance with instructions contained in reference memoran-
dum, the consolidation of the Special Security Division of the Office of
Special Operations into the office of the Executive for Inspection and
Security will be completed by 1 September 1948.
2. In connection with this consolidation, all personnel, equipment,
records, facilities, and field space now being utilized by the Special
Security Division of the Office of Special Operations will be trans-
ferred to the operational jurisdiction of the Executive for Inspection
and Security effective immediately.
3. Changes in assignment, including permanent changes of station,
deemed necessary by the Executive for Inspection and Security in con-
nection with this consolidation may be ordered and effected without
waiting for completion of formal transfer action of the individuals
concerned. Closing of currently operated by the Special
Security Division, O8O, occas one by such reassignments will be effected
at the earliest practicable date. 25X9A2
4. A table of organization providing for ositions to cover
all vouchered personnel requirements of the consols ated activity is
attached. A personnel ceiling of - is authorized for procurement 25X9A2
purposes.( This action rescinds the previous instructions of the
Director establishing a personnel ceiling of -for the Employee 25X9A2
Investigative Branch of the office of the Executive for Inspection
and Security.
