Quotations in Moscow broadcasts occur in (a) ideological, political, pep and other talks,
individual or serialized; (b) at anniversary dates of articles, works of speeches ;to which
particular importance is attached as having had special influence on the development of
events; (c) at random, whenever it suits the subject.
Quotations are taken:
1. from articles
2. from speeches delivered at special occasions (Party Congresses, meetings of the
Soviets, Conference of Stakhanovites, Stalin's speech at the reception in the
Kremlin in honor of the participants of the Victory Parade on 25 June 1945, etc.)
3. from specified works .
4. from collected works (Vol. so-and-so, page so-and-so)
5. without a source being ecific ly me titans ('Stalin painted out that...'
'as Lenin said' or ..., uotatio.; ... Sta]4 ).
Stalin and Lenin are predominant as sources of quotations. Other Soviet figures are seldom
quoted, unless connected with an anniversary, special subject or trend of propaganda
