The primary objective of this ori- entation is to maintain and improve CIA - DOD coop- eration by providing selected members of the Armed Forces the opportunity to become more fully and ac- curately acquainted with CIA's mission and capabilities in peace and war. Key CIA officials will discuss the functions of their components, with specific attention to CIA's role in areas of common concern to the Intel- ligence Community. Also, special emphasis will be placed in the course on matters of direct interest to the Armed Forces, such as war and contingency plan- ning, scientific and technical intelligence, and the co- ordination of foreign intelligence collection activities. It is hoped that these briefings will contribute to a better appreciation of how CIA and the military services can provide mutual assistance in the difficult and vital tasks which confront us all. or Release 2001/07/17 : CIA-RDP78-04727A000300130012-3 S -E -C -R -E -T 1????1?11 Approved For Release 2001/07/17 : CIA-RID.K861027A0C10300130012-3 PROJECT -Schedule - 25X1A2g Monday, 23 September 1968 REGISTRATION, WELCOME, and INTRODUCTION TO COURSE 0815 Arrival at Langley 0815-0900 0900-0915 0915-0945 0945-1000 1000-1100 Registration and Course Administration Break and Reading Introduction to the Course, Its Purpose and Scope Welcome 25X1A9a Course Coordinator Office of Training 25X1A9a Chief, Planning Support Group, Missions and Programs Staff Vice Admiral Rufus L. In this particular instance, I feel that the expenditure of govern:neat fonds to send me here well worthwhile. The professional Went with which the Agency appears permeated is indeed impressive. Helms talk was worth the price of admission. Tour organization because of its very aster* and the necessity that its akteat and modus operandi not be publicised makes for a misconception and misun- derstandisig. I believe it essential that the course be continued. I appreciate the privilege of attending. I also appreciate better year problems and efforts. Good sallies. Vitally important to continue this course. Many questions cleared up for me and wiU nerve to promote better understanding and relationship in the field echelons. Would like to 02(prillila my appreciation to the Agency for their hospitality and obvious sincere effort to make the Project as meaningful as possible. The dividends will be repaid many times over in better relationships and hopefullya better and more coordinated intelligence effort.
