Approved For Release 2001/08/10 : CIA-RDP78-04718A002600170031-3 25 February 1958 MEMORANDUM FOR : DIRECTOR OF PERSONNEL SUBJECT : Loss of Experienced Employees 1. In reference to your memorandum of 28 January 1958, we compiled a list of those employees at Grade GS-11 and above who resigned during the past two years. A copy of this is attached for your information. 2. In reviewing the reasons for these resignations we found that about one-half of these employees resigned to enter private industry. However, there is no indication that their resignations were the result of industry seeking employees of this Agency. 3. Our professional group probably has the most outside contacts in their work. Of the twenty-four who left during the two years only nine were professional employees working in our research area. Of these nine, the performance of two was not wholly satisfactory. The remaining seven we would have liked to have retained. However, this number does not seem high for this period. 4. In summary, while perhaps many of our employees could increase their income in industry, we think that as a whole they are satisfied with their work in CIA.
