I have read your memorandum of 19 p' arch 1957, above subject, and that of the Director of Logistics, dated 13 March 1957, whicr accurately outlines the developments in which you expressed an interest. 2. This has not been a -!appy situation by any me uis and we have been too lon in correcting it. You should know however, that the lack of a current utaticn 2`/0 is at the bottom of the problem at?d we have had consi era le difficulty in corning up with an acceptable proposal in this regard. Certain aspects of the T/O were under discussion, of course, with Mr. until his departure this month, and other details depended upon the return from TvY of Messrs. 3. We have now gone forward to SSA/DDS and the appropriate 25X1A6a DD/S Offices with our proposed new Station T/O and are hopeful that it will satisfy all parties concerned and receive your own approval this week. We simply cannot continue to operate on the basis of the out-dated T/0 which presently constitutes our official staffing 25X1A9a authority. We fully expect Yr. and his advisore on the scene in _to make important organization changes in the Station 25X1A6a throughout the next 3-6 months, but we must provide them w-R, h at least - reasonably accurate T/O starting point if they are to proceed with their planning. 4. The Director of Log stics is giving us excellent personnel 25X1A9a backing and in recent meetings with his staff and U~r. hos t--ken a very active personal interest in meeting our ,ta ing require- ments as we have outlined them to him. We have absolutely no ccnipla-nt on this score. Our on Personnel Section will be reorganized ar.d staffed as of 5 April to better enable us to stay on Uop of our extensive staffing program and assist those Officers .and Boards that have a joint interest in our personnel management problems. 5. With specific reference to the cables cited in your men orandur,, and in consideration of the particular problem indicated in parufrraph l!
