In confirmation of our telephone conversation of
August 11, 1959, "Meadow White" marble, as called for in the
specifications, is a product of the Green Mountain Division of
the Georgia Marble Co. and is quarried only in Vermont. This
marble is whiter and more free of veining, although softer than
white marble quarried in Georgia.
Enclosed for your information is a copy of our letter
to Tompkins-Jones to which I made reference during our conver-
sation.
As soon as Mr. Johnston returns from vacation, which
will be August 17th, we will contact you to make arrangements
for your inspection of the stone.
