SUBJECT: Reallocation of Two Slots in IR/CD
1.Reference paragraph four of the attached memorandum it is requested
than positions 282.01 and 282.02 (GS-12 positions) in the
Soviet'Branch, Industrial Register be abolished and two new GS-7 positions be
established in the . Non-Soviet Branch.

2.The two GS-12 positions have not been staffed as it was realized at
the time they were allocated that the workload might conceivable shift necess-
itating a slight transfer of positions. Whether abolishing the old slots and
setting up new ones or transfe4ing and down grading is the best solution is not
know Whatever mechanics will prove the easiest will be entirely satisfactory.
