Approved For ease 2002/01/07.: CIA-RDP78-030900100120008-9 .3 March 1970 MEMORANDUM FOR: All Senior Training Officers SUBJECT Intelligence Engineering Systems Analysis Course COURSE DESCRIPTION The application of statistical systems analysis methods to intelligence collec- tion and interpretation has achieved significant new levels in all offices of DDS&T. This is also true in some technically oriented offices of the other Directorates. These statistical methods and tools are multidisciplinary in applications and include both physical and life science problems. In an effort to match our capabilities better with these new levels, the Office of Research and Development is offering under contract with STATINTL a course on STATINTL ngineering systems Analysis. This will be a series of 12 sessions held one day per month. Homework problems, typical solutions, and advance class notes will be issued between sessions. Commonalities of statistical tools used in Optics, Communications, Acoustics, Biomedical fields, Servo- mechanisms, etc. are developed and related to typical intelligence problem areas for present problems. PREREQUISITES An engineering/mathematics background will be useful. However, all appli- cations will be considered on a case basis, where experience or present duties indicate need. ENROLLMENT The entire series should be taken in sequence. Deadline for enrollment is 20 March 1970. The attached question- naire, when completed, should be used as an 1 and submitted to Mr. ORD, 603 Ames.
