OC-E/R&D-EP dms ` 25X1A9a (7 June 1966) 2Ofl1 3.U907-8 During the week of 25 April 1966, operational tests of the - exposed two failures: a faulty antenna and inadequate waterproofing. It was determined that the antenna failure was due to an assembly error and does not represent a design fault. No other antennas were found to be defective. The inadequate waterproofing was a result of hasty assembly and gluing of the push-to-talk button gasket. This process will be corrected on all future deliverable units. Due to operational commitments, it is not expected that - already in stock will be returned for retrofit. The inade uate seal, too, may not be universal with all in-stock Mr = requested that future orders of the - 25X1A5a1 incorporate a keyed" battery tray so that the tray may not be inserted backwards. This feature has already been designed and will not represent any significant cost for new orders. The delivery of the above mentioned items will conclude this contract. An alignment and frequency changing jig will be delivered 3 June 1966 under a separate work order. It will not be a stock item and will be used to align and change channels at station 903 before issue. tlor.',rad u
