CLASSIFICATION REVIEW COMMITTEE

ON INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS
Today Dr. Rhoads testified on behalf of the ICRC before the Senate Sub-
committee on Intergovernmental Relations. Senator Lawton Chiles
chaired the meeting and it seemed to go very well.
Several questions were asked about which we were unable to furnish
information. Senator Chiles requested that we submit it for the record.
Accordingly, it would be appreciated if you could pull together material
on the following points:
1. The number of individuals specifically designated
for declassification work after June 1, 1972, the
establishment of additional departmental slots for this
purpose, and requests for appropriations to carry out
this work.
2. Departmental policy or guidance on security
clearance standards for Members of Congress and
their staffs and copies of any clearance forms
utilized in granting them access to classified informa-
tion.
It would be appreciated if you could furnish this information in writing
by the close of business on Tuesday, May 15th.
