In connection with the President's meeting with the press
tomorrow, I enclose a brief memorandum stressing the types of
instances where damaging information has been published. Also
enclosed is a memorandum with regard to the action by the New
York Times and other papers in spreading the Soviet story about
C..I.A.'s alleged encouragement of the Generals' plot against
de Gaulle.
This material is to supplement what we have already sent
to Ralph Dungan.
