tele honed to inquire as to whether or not a cable dispatch-
.
25X1A9a ed today to had been coordinated with us. It had to do with re-
ducing the size of the mission. Jack also said that there was no indica-
25X1A6a tion that the cable had been coordinated with either DD/A or AD/P and pointed out
that we were not on the distribution list. He said that he would see that we were
put on the distribution list and also stated that he thought he would bring this
to the attention of the Director.
14. Stuart Hedden dropped in for a few minutes. While not making a full re-
port, he said that there were three things which he found wrong at almost every
station. The first is that people are not being paid on time and money is not
being deposited to their accounts as scheduled, etc. The second has to do with
travel arrangements, both for the employees and their dependents, and the third
with the shipment of household goods.
5. Arranged for George Meloon to go to New York tomorrow to administer the
Oath of Office, get secrecy agreement signed, and accomplish consultant contract,
etc., with Mr. Ed Green, General Eisenhower's liaison man. This is necessary in
connection with arrangements being made by the DD/I for daily delivery to General
Eisenhower of the same material we make available to President Truman.
