Office of Communications, called about the present status of the draft on PRC Reg ations, inasmuch as Communications wants to insert a few ideas of their own. Told him that I would try to find out and would call him back. 25X1A9a Checked with he didn't know. We both went to work on it and 25X1A9a found that is apparently in the process of working up something. I tried to find out what ever happened to the amendment which DD/A submitted, but I had no luck. 25X1A9a Returned call and suggested that he submit to this Office any recommendations which Communications had for inclusion in the Regulations and that we would see that it got to the right place. He said he would. 25X1A9a 2, called to inquire whether or not it was all right to move the small refrigerator in the basement of this Building (which DD/P had ordered and -owused when he was here) down to Mr. Wisner's office. I suggested that he contact 25X1A9a to which he replied that he had tried to several times but had no luck in getting hold of him, Told him I would do my best to find out and can him, I went down to the kitchen and located the refrigerator. Asked the cook if he needed the extra space and he said he didn't; his own refrigerator is large enough. 25X1A9a Saw Told him what the cook had said and asked him if he had any objection to the refrigerator being moved down to "L" Building for Mr. Wisner. He said, "H 1 not""It belongs to them in the first place." 25X1A9a 25X1A9a Called and relayed message.....not verbatim, how- ever. 3. We received a carbon copy of a memo from the Director to all Deputy Direc- tors, subject: "Release of Cables." As far as DD/A is concerned, only two releas- ing officers, and their alternates, are authorized.* i.e,, Mr. Wolf and Colonel 25X1A9a White, Dr. Tietjen and Inasmuch as I know that many of our offices have been dispatching cables as releasing officers I returned the memo to Bob 25X1A9a - and asked him what he thought about sending a memo to our administrative offices advising them of the restrictions imposed by the Director, and of possibly attaching copies of the Director's memo. He said he thought it would be a good idea and drafted same for Mr. Wolf's signature.
