Approved For Release 1999/09/07 : CIA-RDP75-00001 R000200280017-8 Arthur C. Lundahl was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1915. He received his B.S. (1939) and M.S. (1942) degrees from the University of Chicago in the field of Geology. During World War II Mr. Lundahl served as a Naval officer specialist in photographic intelligence in the Alaska-Aleutian area on the Staff, Commander North Pacific forces where he was commended by Admiral Nimitz for his work. He was assigned to the Naval Photographic Interpretation Center in 1945, and was later appointed the first chief of the newly-formed Photogrammetry Department, 'which handled scores of Navy photogrammetric tasks including spectacular prob- lems with V2 Missiles, Operation Crossroads, Operation Highjump, etc. In Sep- tember 1949 Mr. Lundahl was promoted to the position of assistant engineer at P.I.C.
