Dear ;ack,
I was far more disppointed than you when a flap here
blitzed Placid; we had looked forward hungrily to the trip.
?act is, I had planned to park my youngsters in New York
and motor on for a weekend of easy living with mfr wife.
But Washington, as you no doubt suspect, is a city of
dim expectations. We were logged with a paper over the
weekend and when Monday came found it impossible to got the
many concurrences we required, Thus it was, I spent the
day and five miserable days thereafter.
We may, if God is good, make Syracuse this Fall for a
brief football weekend. May I call you if we do, buy you
and your wife a drink for regrets.
