institutions? Of course not; taeer- actions would be contrary to the constitu:aon,
the laws, and democratic ino titations. The hopes for economic recovery would
disappear overnight. We would nave to endure more foreign intervention--anotiaer

It is quite clear that subversion could only cause more useless bloodshed and

the armed forces and national police, and all Western and Christian nations.

and 'Ilia, Abel Nicolas Rosario spent six hours in Luperon on 22 September before
continuing to Estero Hondo and Aontecristi. At 0900 on the same day, Army Depity
Chief Gen. Jacinto Martinez Arana and Navy Chief Commodore Ramon Rn;.).i,o Jimene
arrived in Luperon and continued on the same route taker he battalion whici
preceded them. The reason for the troop movements has not been disclosed.

Deartment and an expert in sociology, who has initiated a series of "aid and
friendship" visits by outstanding U.S. professors to the university. EL POPULA.t

establishment of the provisional University Government Council. Wedge is said to
he representing himself as nro#rssor from Princeton, and a sympathizer of the
constitutionalists and the renovatinn movement.
