BARRY FARBER: "And before we proceed with the battle of
adoptions, parents who want children -- children who want parents
and peed them -- in both directions -- let me just put a post-'
script on last night.
"We interviewed Colonel Goleniewski, Colonel Michael
Goleniewski who people, who read the paper, will recognize as one
of America's. biggest catches in the cold war. He was a top man
in Polish intelligence. He came over here secretly. He defected
and joined the United States Intelligence in tracking down top
Communists over here.
I.
"Then Colonel Goleniewski vanished from the headlines and he
came back right here on these microphones last night and announced
that -- in a calm voice -- that he was really Alexei Romanoff,
the son of the last C.kar of Russia, and let us cross-examine him
for well the duration of this program, approximately 1{S minutes,
minus commercial'inserts, and we ended upright banging over a cliff.
We didn't know whether be was really the Czar's son or not by the
time the program was over.
"Incidentally, he doesn't want to establish this claim, so.
he can go down in history books. There's a fortune of about,300
million dollars at stake.
?i"The Czar, you remember,-was-the., wealthiest man in the world
