titled Brickbats for Fulbright. In a letter pub- i
Ilished in the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, Rich:
ard. Helms, head of the intelligence agency,
voiced his "pleasure" at the editorial. It was,
critical of the Arkansas Democrat's bid to
bring the CIA under surveillance of his Foreign
Relations, Committee. Later,' Helms told a re-,
porter he had "made a rnistake" and had
apologized to-B`ulbright.
