TOM SHELL: "The National Student Association, through its
advisory board, has ordered a complete break with the U. S. Cen-
tral Intelligence Agency. The decision was reached tonight. in
Washington at the conclusion of a three-day policy meeting'.
"After that session, NSA. board chairman, Sam Brown, read a
statement outlining the methods the CIA used to influence the Cl
Brown said -- "
BROWN . "Prior to establishing a relationship with a staff
member or officer, the Agency ran , security'clearance on the indi
vidual and asked him to sign a national security agreement. In-
dividuals who signed the oath were informed violation. of the oat
could result in. jail. sentences of up to 20 years. At the time o
the signing of such a;n agreement-, the individual, was not aware
that he was to be told of-the relationship of NSA'to the CIA."
