RASKAUSKAS MARYLAND BAR EDWARD J. SKEENS ERNEST C. RASKAUSKAS VIRGINIA BAR CHARLES N. FORD EDWARD J. SKEENS The Honorable Roszel C. Thomsen Chief Judge United States District Court District of Maryland 502 Post Office Building Baltimore, Maryland 21202 Re: Heine v. Raus, C. A. No. 15,952 Dear Judge Thomsen: Counsel for the plaintiff respectfully requests a hearing in the above-styled case concerning the following matters: 1. Hearing on Motion to Strike Order Allowing Amendment of Answer. 2. Hearing on Objections to Interrogatories. 3. Hearing on Motion ~=or Surmnary Judgment. 4. Hearing on in camera Filings of May 31, 1966. Several days ago, I talked to Mr. Connolly about suggesting a date for the hearing to Your Honor that would be convenient to all counsel and which could be accommodated in the schedule of the Court. However, Mr. Connolly advised me that in the Transcript of Proceedings of May 13, 1966, Your Honor had outlined a time- table for the filing of briefs and also for the request by either side for an oral argument on the issues. He stated that he had not requested an oral argument, but that if I do so, that the same be set for the third or fourth week in September. Both Mr. Connolly and Mr. Stanford have trials scheduled in your Court earlier in September, and Mr. Lawrence R. Houston, General Counsel of the Central Intelligence Agency, will not return from his vacation until the 12th of September. Accordingly, if Your Honor's schedule permits, we request that the hearing be set during the week of the 19th or the 26th of September. Thomsen Augu t 30,, 1966 page4nitized - Approved For Release : CIA-RDP75-00001 R000400180041-0 I apologize for any inconvenience and imposition my request at this time might have on the Court, but perhaps I mistakenly inferred from Your Honor's letter to us of May 31, 1966, that a hearing date would be set by the Court without request of counsel.
