ME2iORMTDUM FOR: Deputy Director of Central :Intelligence
SUBJECT : Twelfth Annual Award of the William A. Jump
Memorial Foundation
1. This memorandum transmits for your signature a letter
to Mr. Frederick J. Lawton, U. S. Civil Service Commissioner.
2. The Agency has been invited by Mr. :-rederick J. Lawton,
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the William A. Jump Memorial
Foundation, to nominate a candidate for the :1962 Jump Memorial
Award. This award has been given annually for the past eleven
years to young Federal employees in recognition of outstanding
services in the field of public administration.
3. i1he Deputy Directors reported to the Career Council that
they had no qualified candidates for this award who should be
publicly identified with the Agency. The Council recommends that
no Agency candidate be nominated this year.
