MEMORANDUM FOR: Special Support Assistant to the Deputy
Director for Support
Status of H. R. 16306, A bill to amend the
Central Intelligence Agency Act of 1949, as
amended and for other purposes.
On Monday, 3 October, the House of Representatives passed
H. R. 16306 and transmitted it to the Senate. In anticipation of this
passage, Colonel White and met with Mr. William
Darden, Staff Director, Senate Armed Services Committee, and
reviewed the bill item by item with him. Mr. Darden in turn will be
going over the bill with Senator Russell. To date, no commitment
has been received from Senator Russell for a hearing by the Senate
Armed Services Committee on the bill.
