SUBJECT: DCI Briefing on U.S. Participation in International
Lending Institutions
1. I delivered the subject briefing on Monday, 7 February at
0900, copy of my notes and data for graphics attached. The Director
was more interested in asking questions about the International
Financial Agencies and U.S. participation than in any series of set
remarks, and I spent about 25 minutes simply answering questions.
2. The first one began after I indicated I would identify the
International Lending Agencies. I gave the first one as the Ex-Im
Bank. He asked me when and how it was organized and we were off
on 25 minutes of questions. His questions covered not only all of
the prepared remarks but a number of other lateral and useful areas
of :inquiry.
3. I thought, in general, that the briefing went very well.
There were no questions left unanswered that he wanted replies to
nor did he suggest any further briefing in this dirtion.
