Guatemalan people or the people of Belize, but rather the North
American imperialists, who exercise complete domination over the
government of President Ydigoras Fuentes. From this point of view, it
is possible that Washington ha3 committed itself to Ydigoras Fuentes
in the task of making possible the transfer, so that it can take over
another British colony on the continent.
This would not be the first time that the United States has been the
"heir" of its associates in Great Britain. In any case, the revelation
of the deal is a sensational event. It is evidence of the rotten core
of imperialism, its Central American puppet, and all its aggressive
policy policy against Cuba. Will this coarse and thwarted commercial
exchange be discussed in the coming Punta del Este foreign ministers
conference convoked by the State Department? Certainly not!

(Summary) Havana--An editorial, entitled "Tardy Confessions," appears
today in the newspaper EL MUNDO of this capital. The editorial
points out the confession made by the so-called president of,'Guatemala,
in which he admits the direct participation of his government .in the
training of, mercenaries paid by North American ir,lperia7.ism and
defeated by the Cuban people at Playa Giron.
EL MUNDO referring also to the statements of the former director of
the Central Intell~aeqy, 6exi'.4.1es,.. Sai'GTardily,
tN"e iave aecia6a:to publicly confess their participation in the
unsuccessful invasion of our country, an invasion which was crushed at
Playa Giron." The paper says. "While Dulles has limited himself
to confessing that the invasion was a project of the organization he
directed as well as a failure, Senor Ydigoras has used a boastful
tone and has presented his government as just a little less than the
promoter of the invasion, and, strange but true, affirmed couriously
enough that what happened at Playa Giron was .'a tactical defeat, but
making an inventory of the results obtained, it can be seen that it
was a true victory, like the naval battle of Jutland between the
Germans and British in the World War I."
Referring further to the statements made by the Guatemalan President
to the effect that, after the invasion, the warmongering, activities
by Castro outside Cuba had ceased, the paper says: "Senor. Ydigoras
distorts the truth, as is his wont. All of Latin America knows. that
the warmongering activities to which he refers never existed. They
existed only in his dark and twisted mind."

The paper accuses the President of.-Guatemala of resorting to illegal'
methods of repression each time the Guatemalan people or some opposing
political leader, give evidence of being in disagreement with his
"corrupt government."
EL MUNDO referred to Ydigoras' complaint that, while his government
maintained silence, the North Americans, going into hysterics
and forgetting even the simplest norms of reserve, went so far as to
mention the name of Guatemala as the training point and origin of the
invasion. "Such effrontery had never been seen before," mourned Ycigorase
The paper concludes by saying that the complaint by Ydigoras against
his associates in the stealthy attack against Cuba is surprising and
incongruous. The:.;paper says that Senor Ydigoras appears to be
ignorant of the fact that no credence can be given to the old Spanish
axiom which speaks of honor among scoundrels.

(Text) Tegucigalpa--The North American "technician" in anticommunist
affairs, John Denney, member of the Central Intelligence Agency of
the United States, which prepared the unsuccessful invasion of Cuba
last 3.7 April, will "reorganize" the security corps of this country.
The chief of the civil guard, Marcelino Ponce Martinez, according
to orders which go into effect today, invalidated all identification
cards carried by the agents of the corps until they can be renewe4..
In this manner from now on, the public security corps will be und6r
the direction of the chief of the civil guard and will be virtually
directed by the official of the CIA
NEW FISHING BOATS--The shipyard of the national agricultural institute--
INRA--.in Cienfuegos has built 15 fishing boats which will contribute
toward increasing Cuba's fish production. (Havana Radio Centro

OIL, WIRE IMPORTS--A Danish ship has arrived in Santiago de Cuba with
a cargo of 627 tons of tire for manufacturing nails. A shipment of
3,855 tons of crude oil has arrived from Odessa aboard a British

NEW HOUSING FOR FARMERS--The new village of 32 houses which was
recently handed to the farmers of the Calixto Garcia community firm.
