1. The J-75 Engine Overhaul Contract at P&W, Hartford,
has not been accepted this date. Status at present:
1 Engine - in work under old contract.
6 Engines- awaiting new overhaul contract.
7 Engines- at P&W
3 Engines- due change for HSI Nov 68.
0 Spare Engine "R" at Det "G" since 25 Oct 68.
1 Spare Engine "C" at Det "G"
1 Spare Engine "R" at Det "H"
1 Spare Engine "C" at Det "H"
2. The Navy/P&W contract negotiation is to take place
in Pentagon on 15 Nov 68. Telecon between
and Lt. Colonel Nalley/AFRDR-P, this date,
contract meeting to be monitored by AFRDR-P. Lt. Colonel
Nalley to advise 15 Nov 68, contract status.
3. Headquarters Materiel can envision U-2R Aircraft
NORSG for engines during interim period pending overhaul
line activation. The following alternatives available when
a NORSG occurs;
a. Convert a "C" spare to an "R" spare,(no "C"
deployment can occur).
b. Pull engine from LAC aircraft undergoing long
down time. .
