1. This memorandum is a request for authorization
for the expenditure of to pursue the Concept Evalua-
tion Phase of an Advanced ero ynamic Reconnaissance System.
This is a, continuation of the FY-69 effort requested by
Reference (A) and approved by Reference (B).

3. Consistent with the two viable regimes and required
maneuverability, the study evolved numerous vehicle prelimin-
ary design options. Both manned and unmanned concepts were
considered.

FY-69 study represented the initial effort only and consider-
able meaningful investigations remain to Although

DU-2 Committee Report
1. During a phone conversation on 24 November 1969 with
he revealed that has accepted all the
recommendations of the committee, and these recommendations
are included in the D/NRO report to the EXCOM.
2. II noted that he planned to brief Mr. Duckett,
but since it was cancelled, he will desist from further briefings
unless specifically requested by Mr. Duckett.
3. The complete report should be available for distribution
at noon, 2S November, and copies to OSA will be available shortly
thereafter. Copies will also be forwarded to D/CIA and DDS&T.
OSA copies would be available for re-distribution if deemed
necessary by section chiefs.
