Approved-Felr Release P68-OQ}9A000200010004-2 COPY 9 May 1958 MEMORANDUM FOR: The Director of Central Intelligence SUBJECT: Fifth Annual Report of the Advisory Committee on Foreign Language Publications (A CFLP) . IAC-D.-66/7 1. No controversial points were raised in the preparation of the report; in fact, the first draft of the report was accepted by the committee without change. 2. After the IAC had noted the report, I recommended that, contingent on IAC approval of DCID 2/4 and DCID 2/5 (the next items on the agenda), you move the dissolution of the Advisory Committee on Foreign Language Publications. The responsibilities and plans of the Procurement and Exploitation subcommittees of the ACFLP, as reported in the Fifth Annual Report, should be referred for action to the new committees established by the above-mentioned DCIDs. 3. It has been a genuine pleasure to have seen the findings of a Working Group of the Economic Intelligence Committee chaired by me back in 1952, implemented through NSCID-16 and now by the highly significant DCIDs. My chairmanship of the ACFLP since 1954 .has been a rewarding experience.
