1. The following is a list of the more important actions taken by the
Interdepartmental Coordinating and Planning Staff since its report dated
20 August 1946t
21 August - Held interdepartmental round-table discussion on coordination
of biographic data collection,, recording, and. dissemination.
GIG directive to provide standardization is in preparation.
27 August - Held interdepartmental round-table discussion of agency
problems requiring prompt GIG coordination. Established
priority of undertakings. Agreed to periodic meetings.
27 August - CIG letter to IAB requesting standardization of transliteration
and transcription systems from Russian, Arabic, Persian, etc,
to Roman alphabet.
-29 August - Made interdepartmental arrangements for briefing of Mr. Brownell
for 5 September at 1000, Presentation Room, Central Building.
McDowell of G-2 and Eddy of State will assist.
29 August - Initiated action for centralized U.S. newspaper clipping service
for all intelligence agencies.
30 August - Called interdepartmental round-table to determine national EEI
for China.
3 September - Called interdepartmental round-table. to coordinate production
of intelligence information on foreign industrial establishments.
