The Northwestern Law Review for July-August,
1954, contained an article entitled "Role of the FBI in the
Federal Employees Security Program" written by Mr. J.
Edgar Hoover, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investiga-
tion.
The Attorney General has secured a number of
reprints of the article, and he has asked me to direct one to
your attention. The article very carefully delineates the
limited responsibility of the FBI in the sec;urity program,
and effectively combats certain misconceptions which may
exist in the minds of persons who have participated in the ad-
ministration of the program.
