1. Mercury Automobile--DD/I: has indicated that he wishes 25X1A
to retain his Mercury automobile althoug it is o and economically unfeasible
to repair. He has shown reluctance to accept a six-cylinder Plymouth or any
other low-powered car as a substitute. He asked that repairs be made to the
Mercury during his absence while on vacation. I telephoned-today to 25X1A
advise that we would not repair it as it was economically not feasible to do so,
but that I would offer Jack an eight-cylinder Chevrolet which has recently come
into our possession. I will await the DD/I's reaction when he returns.
2. Promotion o short time back I recommended for
approval the promotion 00 GS-16. The memorandum was returned
by the Executive Director-Comptroller with a note that this should be reconsid-
ered about January 1967. Today I inquired as to the reason and was advised that
it was the wish of the DCI that this action be deferred to this time with no prejudices
to the recommendation for promotion.
3. The proposal to reemploy subject on a reserve appoint-
ment in the Retiree Placement Service was questioned by the Executive Director.
After some discussion it was a e would sit tight on this case pending further
developments. It appears that ias a tentative offer of employment on the
and we will simply wait to see how this develops. Interest in employing
n this position in the Office of Personnel is on the "minus" side.
