1, Educational Aid Fund: I mentioned to the Executive Committee the
Combined Fund Drive and specifically asked each Deputy Director to speak through
his staff machinery on behalf of the Educational Aid Fund and PSAS. I emphasized
the EAF. I later talked t d discussed his work as secretary 25X1A
in preparing for our solicitation campa gn. He appears to be on the job, and the
latter part of this month we can begin our program.
2. Foreign Visitors: The White House and. Department of State have "stepped
up" our quota to 100 employees as guests on the White House lawn to greet foreign
visitors. The latest visitor is President Marcos of the Philippines who is scheduled
to arrive on Wednesday, 14 September. I mentioned at the Executive Committee
Meeting that this was becoming a burden and if increased I would like to take it up
with the Protocol Officer at State. While Mr. Helms was agreeable, he indicated
that this was directed from the White House and we should tread very easy in this
area.
