Operations School, OTR, and Support Positions in DD/P: I invited 1o discuss proposals concerning the above two subjects. I proposed that approximate y 85 instructor positions in the Operations School of OTR be designated as DD/P positions and that the present OTR incumbents in those positions could elect to go into the "D" Career Service or remain with DD/S. If they want to take "D" then DD/P would be responsible for the full management of their careers. If they remained with DD/S, I would be responsible for their eventual assignment within OTR or to some other position in DD/S. I also proposed that a survey be conducted in DD/P to identify all Support positions in DD/P, including headquarters land overseas and that these positions be designated to be filled by careerists. The present incumbents of the designated positions could elect to come to DD/S or remain with DD/P on a time-phase basis. Those who remai '-d th Dr) 13 ould be moved out of those positions and replaced by DD/S careerists ill take this proposal to Des FitzGerald and advise of his reactio y to be conducted of DD/P would be by the Office of Personnel and 2.
