SUBJECT: Coverage
1. Mr. Bissell indicated that in the event there were
sufficient pressure for meeting requirements on_ to motivate
the activation of some recce unit other than AQUATONE he felt
that AQUATONE should do the job on the ground that the best
facility available to the United States Government should do the job.
2. He indicated that he intended to discuss this matter
further with Mr. Dulles and that he would make a decision by
Monday, 27 May.
3. Mr. Bissell asked me to discuss this matter with
Colonel Maria imparting the above information as necessary
and to let him know Colonel Macia's response.
