who wrote a "cold" letter to the Direc
tor
of Personnel asking about the Career Training Program. He sent
copies to me.

actually does them. He worked hard for long hours and was always
cheerful and cooperative.

released by the Army. When he expressed interest in CIA employ-
ment ? encouraged him to write. He is sincere and, ? think. genuinely
dedicated to a career in intelligence. I don't think his attached letter
does justice to his extensive residence and travel abroad, which has
made him adaptable to the sort of conditions we meet in the Agency.
Perhaps it would be worthwhile to have this
note catch up with the original of his letter of application.
