The following is a report on photographic coverage of: a. 157 priority targets in South China and North Vietnam; b. Targets in Laos adjacent to the South China border; c. Targets in the Sino-Indian border area. South China/North Vietnam 2. Since the last report, the total number of priority targets decreased from 168 to 157. Three airfields under construction and eight rail line segments in North Vietnam were deleted. The construction at the airfields is not at a stage where significant military activity could take place. Althoigh sporadic coverage of the rail line segments is of some significance for intelligence purposes, it does not provide the indications required to determine a possible Chinese Communist military buildup. Of the 11 targets deleted from the priority list, eight had been covered by base line quality photography, thereby, reducing the base line total from 118 to 110. 3. The base line total was increased from 110 to 111 as a result I which acquired base line coverage of Chung An Airfield. I land TROJAN HORSE missions flown in a previous reporting period acquired surveillance coverage of two targets in North Vietnam. No further photographic coverage was reported during this reporting period. 4. Tab A lists the 111 of 157 priority targets in South China and North Vietnam now covered by base line photography and shows total coverage., as follows: 2 TOP SECRE Approved For Release 2006/03/10 : CIA-RDP82M00097R001900010006-5 Approved For Release OAUf031 bEQ38I i3P82M0004T 9Mt10006-5 USIB-D-41. 18/ 119 (COMOR-D-25/ 177-72) 6 December 1966 Limited Distribution Column 4 - Base line coverage since 1 March 1966, shown by date.
