Toward the end of 19549 the Hungarian Army started to use Oppanol

for making protective clothing, Oppanol9 obtained from the Soviet
Union, is worked up into protective clothing by the following
firms: (a) Debreceni Pamut Fono Gyar; (b) Szegedi Textil. Kombinat
(Szeged Textile Combine) of Szeged 56 16 N - 20 09 E7; and (c)
Uj Szegedi Kender Fono Gyar (Now Szeged Flax Spinning Factory),
Uj Szeged is located to the east of Szeged on the east bank of the
Tisza River, These plants cut and make Oppanol into protective
clothing and use raw (natural) rubber as a binder,

Heavy rubber suits have not been used in Hungary since 1954. It is
believed that these suits have been given to civil defense units,
