1. For the 1954 Plan Year, as well as 19559 the Czechoslovakian State
foreign trade company - KOVO, in Prague, had ordered three million
optical lenses for specacles,(Punktal Glaeser) from VEB Carl Zeiss,
Jena. A similar quantity will be ordered forthe 1956 Plan Year.
The total price for this 1956 order is to ber'620,000 rubles. Zeiss
officials are not quite certain whether all of these lenses for
spectacles are to be used for sale within Czechoslovakia or whether
KOVO intends to re-export some of them in turn to other East Bloc
countries.
2. In addition, KOVO has ordered 40,000 selenium photo-cells. Due to
the fairly low sensitivity of the type of photo-cells ordered (about
700 ITV), it is presumed that they are primarily intended for light
meters, or some similar use, rather than for high-grade scient#,fio
instruments. The total value of this photo-cell order is to amount
to 720,000 rubles.1
