Between 18 to 26 July 19 5, the Buelow Kaserne (4441) in Frankfurt/Oder 25X1 was,f~~oupied to capacity by approximately 2,000 soldiers wearing redllcbordered black epaulets with tank, artillery, signal and motor transport insignia. The following heavy weapons'were observed: 8 x 85-mm or 100-mm AT guns, 6 JS tanks and each 3 T-34/85 tanks on 18, 22 and 25 July. 25X1 25X1 2. Between 18 and 26 July, the Artillerie Kaserne (4442) in Frankfurt/Oder was about 50 percent occupied. On 19 and 21 July. 4 x 37-mm AA guns 3. At 2100 on 17 July, 12 JS tanks, which came from the direction of Horn Kaserne (4445) were loaded at the Frankfurt/Oder railroad station. At about 0200 on 26 July. 10 tanks of an undetermined type were seen en route from the direction of the railroad station toward Horn Kaserne. 3 25X1 4. At 1100 on 27 July. 8 T-34/85 tanks, 4 trucks each and, on 23 July, 8 x 37-mm AA guns were seen in the installation. and approximately 120 soldiers were loaded At 2000, ----~? ?---~-- 3 JS (?) tanks and 8 trucks, the latter presumably from the Hindenburg Kaserne in Frankfurt/Oder, were entrained. Both shipments left toward Frankfurt/Oder. 4 5. Between 27 and 30 July, the Flidgerhorst Kaserne (4503) in FuergbWwalde was occupied as previously by approximately 2,000 soldiers-Wearing red-bordered black epaulets with artillery and signal insignia. No training was observed. Intensive construction activity and 76-mm AA guns were observed in the northeast section of the installation. Some 20 soldiers engaged in excavation work for 3 more AAA emplacements in the quartering area south of the Fuerstenwalde-Steinhoefel road. On 29 and 30 July, telephone lines were being hung on new poles from the installation to the AAA emplacements. 5 25X1 25X1 6. Between 27 and 30 July. the Pionier Kaserne (4502) in Fuerstenwalde was occupied by 2,500 to 3,000 soldiers who wore red- bordered black epaulets with tank and artillery insignia. On 29 and 30 July. 10 T-34/85 tanks engaged in mock attacks west of the drill grounds. Approximately 8 T-34/85 and 4 JS tanks were being serviced in the installation.6 7. Between 23 and 27 July, the Adeei Hitler Kaserne (2287) in Potsdam was only lightly occupied. No training was observed. The sheds on the west side of the installation were empty. Between 23 and 27 July, the Kriegsschule 02288) ih Potsdam was occupied by approximately 500 soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets with artillery insignia. Three vehicle sheds were empty on 27 Jul-y. A considerable number of 122-mm field howitzers but no other weapons were seen in the installation. 8 9. Between 22 July and 4 u t the Kriegsschule (2288) and the Adolf Hitler Kaserne (2287) in Potsdam appeared to be occupied to capacity (number of lighted windows). A T-54 tank was definitely observed in the Adolf Hitler Kaserne. 7 25X1 25X1 Comment. The information does not indicate major changes 25X1 in the Buelow Kaserne in Frankfurt/Oder. The motor vehicles seen there are believed to belong to the Fourth Gds Mecz Army, 25X1 Frankfurt/Oder post. Comment. Elements- of the 32d AAA Div. stationed in the Artillerie Kaserne in Frankfurt/Oder were transferred .t_o the Jueterbo training 3. I (Comment.
