The Cristian airfield is located six kilometers west of Sibiu and is actually a prolongation of the Turnisor airfield. The latter is currently used by civil aircraft going to and returning from Bucharest. 2. The Cristian field measures 2,000 meters from east to west and less than 1,400 meters from north to south. There is no concrete runway and, as of November 1954, no efforts had been made to construct one. 3e No hangars have yet been constructed but the necessary materiel to do so has been put in place. To the north of the field, there are 11 one-story buildings, eight of which have been completed and three of which are still under construction. A garage provides space for approximately 30 trucks and automobiles. 14. About 20 to 25 "Stormovitch't are sheltered in alveolates built in the southern area of the field. The barracks are occupied by aviation units and their families. Two buildings are occupied by the construction battalion, 5.
