SUBJECT: Recommendations of Committee on International
Communism
1. The attached memorandum from the Chairman, Committee
on International Communism, is submitted pursuant to the decision of
the IAC on 9 September that that Committee "consider what the nature
.and scope of its future activities should be and make recommendations
on this question to the IAC" (IAC-M-360, item 7). In addition,,
Mr. Johnson suggests that the recommendation in this memorandum
be accepted as an interim report in compliance with subparagraph b
of Action I of IAC-D-112/3, 19 August (circulated subsequently as
USIB-D-1.12, 19 September).
2. This.matter will be placed on the agenda of an early USIB
meeting (probably that of 14 October) for review and action on the
Committee's recommendation.
