Tuesday - 20 January 1970
1. (Internal Use Only - JGO) Received a call from Mr. Mel
Christopher, Special Assistant, Arms Control and Disarmament Agency,
and discussed with him legislative oversight provided by the four CIA
Subcommittees. In response to his question concerning the House
Appropriations Committee, I advised him that Chairman Mahon has not
identified the membership for publication.
2. (Unclassified - JMM) David Delcour, in the office of
Representative Donald G. ratz-an called to say the Congressman
wanted to see me regarding on 22 January at 10:15 a. m.
3. (Unclassified - JMM) Called Sa , , FBI, regarding the
inquiry from Representative Brotzman on th case, saying that
Brotzman wanted to see ..me personally on 22 January. Papich insisted
the Bureau had never had any involvement in the case and I assured him
we had never indicated they had.
4. (Unclassified - JMM) Attempted to see Chairman L. Mendel
Rivers, House Armed Services Committee, but was informed he was
out of the city. Mrs. Bull, the Congressman's secretary, suggested I
call back on Thursday.

5. (Unclassified - GLC) Received a call fro in STAT
DDI Liaison, who said that Commander Leedom, of the Navy Offices of
Legislative Affairs, had called him to say that Jack Reddan, on the
staff of the Investigating Subcommittee of the House Armed Services
Committee, had been in touch with their office in an effort to talk with
General Cushman in connection with the M Lai matter. Leedom wanted
us to contact Reddan on this. I advised that Colonel Hayden, of STAT
the Marine Corps, had been in touch with Mr. Maury concerning this
and had suggested that all General Cushman directly if he
wished to talk with him. [will pass this same information on to
