The following is a transmission over ZXE8 Rio do Janeiro of an ASA PRESS d.3spstch
in Portuguese Morse to Brazil and Latin America on 28 March 1947 at 6:30 p.m. ESL
and is for information:
"R.o: An informant whose name is not revealed told a local evening paper
that the PCB (Brazil Communist Party) will organize 20 shock brigades
for the Federal district. He pointed out how the Communists in Brazil, as
throughout the world, are penetrating insiduously into schools, factories,
and plantations, organizing in the Hitler fashion inexperienced youth into
party militia which will be utilized at an opportune moment, if necessary,
in face of the trend of events ir the Americas.
"The informant added that the brigades will be distributed throughout the
country, thus not being circumscribed by the Federal district. He added
that he already knows that control over vehicles. has begun in case of
emergency. He also reported that all the military men who have automobiles,
bicycles and: trucks will be automatically mobilized in case of necessity.
"The informant also declared that in conformity vdth the decision of the
Communist Party of the United States, shade the' day after the speech by
Truman, syndical regimentation and alignment in industries with bases in
South America, principally in Bolivia end Brazil, are being activated.
"In case of war between the United States and Russia the sabotage thus
organized would spring into action and the United States will not be able
to count on South American industrial aid.)
