MEMORANDUM FOR: Chairman, United States Intelligence Board
SUBJECT : Appointment of Acting Chairman of the TSCC
1. At its regular monthly meeting this morning, the TSCC
discussed the departure from Government service on 29 June of
both the Chairman and Executive Secretary. The Committee noted
that in the past when the Chairman has been out of the country, the
State Department member, Mr. G. Marvin Gentile, Deputy Assistant
Secretary of State for Security, served as Acting Chairman.
2. In view of the departure of the Chairman, the other
members of the TSCC, unanimously requested that Mr. Gentile
serve as Acting Chairman until such time as a new Chairman is
appointed. Mr. Gentile agreed to do so and the action will be
reflected in the minutes of the meeting. For record purposes,
