DAVID RUSH: "A Central Intelligence Agency official says
somebody took several thousand dollars worth of jewels from
his Georgetown home two weeks ago. The agent, Hans Tofte,
had listed his house for sale. Reportedly, the CIA sent in
another agent under the guise of being a prospective buyer.
The agent browsed his way through Tofte's house and allegedly
noted a number of classified papers laying in the open.
:Later, CIA agents made another visit to the Tofte house
and took the documents into custody. But now Tof to has made
a counter charge. He says the agents -- since the agents
returned to his house, the documents aren't all that disap-
peared -- several thousand dollars worth of jewelry, according
to the home owner..
"Federal and city authorities are investigating."
