A. Review of On-Going Projects
1. Status Report fromi on his re-oriented project
attempting to correlate psychological indices showing slow
time cycle changes with variations in alertness and per-
formance. The Primary question arises regarding the possible
application of any current trends or findings to our present
profile of psychological procedures being used on volunteer
applicants.
STAT 2. In regards tol _J initial assessment procedure
utilized previously, has there been adequate feedback on
behavior and performance data to provide any useful guidance
in terms of his re-oriented research project now being pro-
secuted
being supported either by the agency or other government groups
which have direct or indirect pertinence to the basic objective.
4. Re-consideration and discussion of current procedures being
used in p -Tchological projective testing and other psychological
assessment techniques as they relate to or integrate with.
psychiatric interview and evaluation techniques and methods.
5. A consideration of various electronic measurement and

in our current armamentarium of evaluation and selection
orocedures. Also in this connection, a discussion on the
possible value of including "emotional sensors and indicators"
as ancillary procedures to our physiologic stress tests.

B. Joint Consideration of new and potentially valuable
avenues of approach to basic problems.
t. Are there any current data processing systems available
v'tiich could he utilized to give us the capability of rapidly
s=creening large numbers of potential volunteers on the basis
of significant personal background material.
2. Have we examined in sufficient depth the monitoring and
suubsequent analyses under various conditions of relatively
,ir~oi.?; attained recordings of human function variables such
as sineech, micro- and macro-muscle activity patterns, question-
answer response times, handwriting, and other similar activities
as possible useful i;dicators of underlying emotionality and
affect status. In this connection, it should be kept in mind
that any technique developed in the laboratory that can be
easily utilized under training and operational conditions will
enhance its value to us many-fold.
3. Currently, there are a number of both open and closed
research projects aimed toward the perfection of covert
nsvcho-Physiologic monitoring i.e., sensing and recording human
vari.ah-hles without knowledge by the subject. Are any of these
sufficiently proven as would be useful in any portion of our
~:dv amic assessment evaluation procedures.
A. If we view broadly the current efforts and results thereto
,,.F the ma?or programs attempting to monitor and evaluate
I;etzavior and performance under all conditions, is it possible
for us to construct any type of iuathematical matrix or model
T'1 ich could be easily computerized to yield significant
uauidance for future concentration and augmentation of research
effort.
