3? Ed Braswell, Chief Counsel, Senate Armed
vices Committee, called. He said he had misplaced the material from
the Congressional Record I had gotten for him some weeks ago containing
Senator Stennis' statement that he would be willing to have the MASF program
returned to the Foreign Relations Committee when it was clear that there was
at least a reasonable peace settlement in Southeast Asia. I gave him the
reference which was page S. 9281 of the Congressional Record of 13 June
1972.
25X1 4. Major Kaine, Homecoming Information
Center, DOD, called. He said General Walters had called General James'
office, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, about a French
journalist, Pierre Darcourt from Aurore Magazine, who wanted to talk to
some of our returned prisoners. Major Kaine said they would be happy to
assist Darcourt but would like to know more details. I told General Walter's
secretary the above and he will get in touch with Major Kaine.
