Charles Mathias, R-Md., and Rep. ~Goodloe Byron, R- Md.., 111976 the family forfeited the pen- sion in exchange for an authorized $75,000 monetary award. Bob Atkinson, an. aide to Byron, Said the pension was-"inadvertantly" dropped in the 1976! agreement. He saia-the pension could be worth mom than the award. . But he said it was. not clear how much the monthly pension would be. Olson surrendered her husband's pension to seek the monetary award after learning 22 years after his death that he had unknowingly taken LSD given him by a CIA agent.
